God’s Redemption: Reminding Myself

Sometimes I forget that God’s guidance is always for my good. Sometimes it feels more like punishment, or a really hard assignment. But the LORD’s paths always lead me to joy, blessing, and health. I am learning to trust our Creator more fully with each trial and temptation.

I read this verse today in my quiet time,

“Thus said the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leas you by the way that you should go.” -Isaiah 48:17

It helps me to remember that there is only one Truth. God, our heavenly Father is the same God who promises to direct us through the deep waters, the tough valleys, and He says he will uphold us with His righteous right hand. This concept strengthens me as I climb the hills of difficulty that I face this week.

I love the word “Redeemer.” In the Old Testament, the word “redeemer” was used to describe someone who purchased slaves. I learned in Sunday School many years ago that redeem means to buy back. Jesus fulfilled all of the prophesies about a Messiah from the Old Testament. God offers each and every one of us salvation through the work of his Son, Jesus.

The blood that Jesus shed on the cross redeemed us. (I Peter 1:18:- 19)

Jesus became sin for us so that we could be saved from our sins. We are rescued from death because of our sin (wrong things that we do) by God through his son Jesus Christ. I love talking about these concepts. If you have questions, or would like to converse more about this Redemption, please leave a comment below.
